I actually, and not surprisingly since it is my first exposure to the scale model, prefer the QSI version of the whistle, and do wish the newer Paragon 2 had the option of the horn as the real Niagara did.

I have a disparity between the QSI older Paragon and the sounds in the new issue.

Me, too... Where did the air horn go? I have three whistle choices but no Leslie A-200Sad

Hi, Zephyr

I picked up two BLI Niagras when they were first available. They were selling for about double what they are today. I like them so much I recently bought another from MB Klein for a reasonable price.

I think BLI must have done their homework on these guys! They're great runners and look beautiful.

You can see a short glimpse of them at work here. Beginning at about 9:20

Have fun! Ed

I have both the original Paragon from eight years ago, and the latest issue in Paragon 2, the run that just came out.  Both wonderful.  Run well, sound great, although now I have a disparity between the QSI older Paragon and the sounds in the new issue.  Can't win 'em all...

I ordered one as my Christmas present from my wife. Found a good deal on that website no one talks about. $218 new in the box.

I put it on the programming track and set the address (6008) then on the outer mainline for a test run. I set the sound levels etc. in OPS mode. Sounds good, smooth and pulled a 9-car mixed passenger train without a problem.

BLI says a 22-radius minimum and I believe them. My outer main is 22- 1/2 and it runs fine. The inner main is 20-1/2 and I think I could detect a little binding.

In any case, with the short test run I'm pleased. Christmas will be good this year.

Remember its your railroad

I just received mine. Right now I'm working on my scenery and I'm not really running trains right now. But I was curious so I ran it a couple times around the track and it seems fine. Good sounds and a smooth runner. And I noticed the price has come down somewhat so I would say it's worth the price.

BLI Paragon2 4-8-4 Niagara

Hello all,

I'm thinking of getting a NYC Niagara from BLI, released earlier this year under Paragon2, but I can't seem to find any good reviews/videos. Any input is appreciated!
