Newbie Question
Posted by Anonymous on Thursday, September 30, 2004 3:25 PM
Hi -- I'm new to this site, although not to model railraoding. My question is: Is it appropriate to advertise for Wants & Disposals of kits & rolling stock on this forum, or is there someplace that is acceptable?
TIA

I am not entirely sure, but I think the trains.com people frown on that. Though I don't see why as it is a perfectly good way to advertise.

Try E-Bay or Yahoo groups, or contact a local Model Railway club or Hobby shop

There are classified ads available here on trains.com, though I'm not sure how they work. James is right, that is not what the forums are for. Thanks for asking, and good luck.

I think it keeps this viable as a discussion forum; you know how fast we'd have a zillion posts just of us trying to sell stuff. Now, casual product placement is another story (how often do we mention brand names in these things) but yeah, e-bay works well.
