Concor is one of those companies that are kind a under the radar that if someone told me they were closed, I would believe it. They never come out with anything "mainstream" rolling stock I want - mostly older specialty things. Concor seems like one of those companies that used to be. I hardly ever think of them. The only products I have from them are some of their generic 40 and 45' trailers and some freight cars they made back in the 80's.

Con-Cor announced new Christmas cars for HO and, I think, N for the season which is not an exciting offering for me but at least shows they are alive and kicking and presumably shipping product. They were not at this year's Trainfest in Milwaukee, which generally they are at, but then neither was Overland and some other outfits that are not necessarily every-year regulars.

Everyone should have a large hotel on their layout to hold all the rumors (roomers) heard about opeings, closings and what not in the model railroading world.

That rumour certainly would be bad news for the hobby.
The new coach sets being marketed by Con Cor are for the money in my opinion very good quality and their prices are reasonable. I have more or less retired my full size passenger sets and replaced them with the new Con Cor Suburban 65' coach sets.
I now have their Canadian Pacific, Canadian National and Great Northern sets and have for the time being packed up the Walthers sets that I had previously been running.
Con Cor now has just about every major railroad represented, they have been busy bringing out new roadnames as well as painted tuscon and pullman green sets which are not labeled.
However, I did not replace the Rapdio coach sets that came with the CPR Canadian FP9 locomotives.
gunfighterzeroI was talking to the guys at the local train shop over the weekend and someone said they heard a rumor that concor was closing is doors. Has anyone else heard this?
Actually, it's the MR forum that's closing it's doors...but you didn't hear it from me.

That rumor has come and gone several times over the years --
One of our club members worked at Con-Cor last year, and some of us visited their facility a couple months ago (70 miles away in Tucson, AZ).
As Will Rogers would have said, Con-Cor is alive and well, and rumors of their death are premature. They're even in the process of upgrading their facility. But in this business, anything is possible.
