I a new on the forums, so I thought it was just for your first x amount of post. It is quickly getting annoying. By what I have read, you basically have to keep posting so many things. Now people might post pointless things to get around moderation. Honestly the software engineer needs to hear the saying "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."

Windows 3.0, 3.1?

Yup. Like I said, Windows Cretaceous Period.

For me, every 48 hours it resets to zero...although it doesn't bother me, I am slightly worried that if I begin posting on CTT or somewhere else I don't hang out often, I might get a big welcome...

Unfortunately, no one makes floppies any more and  I doubt ti would run on the latest version of Windows anyway. IIRC, 20 years ago would have something like Windows CP (Cretaceous Period).

Windows 3.0, 3.1?

I figure this whole brouhaha is the website's version of the movie "50 First Dates".

Which reminds me of a joke about consultants.

A consultant is a person who theoretically knows 101 ways to make love, but has never actually been on a date.

And the post count reverting to zero reminds me of version 1.0 of Sid Meier's "Railroad Tycoon" (early 90's). Seems there was a glitch in the game wherein you could go as deeply into debt as the software would allow initially and then each cycle of the game would drive you more and more negative until after about 5 or 6 cycles, you'd not only go positive, but you'd have enough cash on hand to buy out all your competition. You'd win every time. I actually found the original floppies for the game stuck in a drawer somewhere. Unfortunately, no one makes floppies any more and  I doubt ti would run on the latest version of Windows anyway. IIRC, 20 years ago would have something like Windows CP (Cretaceous Period).

I've been to zero seven times this time around. The software engineers say it's a software glitch. I say it's a software engineer glitch. The inability to leave things that ain't broke alone.

Aren't you being just a tad simplistic?

That's the way things really work.

I  called them a few days ago, about those problem's and they told me,no one ever brought it to they're attention before. I was put on hold for about a minute,,she came back, asked me a few more questions and assured me they would check it out and get back to me by E-mail..She had mentioned, that some problem's are popping up now since the redo, that they are still working on..Should I ever receive any answer,,I will post it on the Forums..I have not got back to zero yet, like Jabear and Jeff, but I can't get past 1350,,six times,it put me back to 1200,,sometimes I am actively have a conversation,on a thread,,but it shows that I am not on-line..Laugh

My post count does not matter to me, although if I remember correctly it was over 1,200. Thanks.

And I do see that you post count is low. It's at "2" at this time. Mine is only showing "17" when in reality I have over "23,000". You can let the admins know what's going on and one of them can take you off moderated status or a moderator can do it the next time you post.

I remember one of the moderators mentioning they instituted this change because the forum sociopath would come in and register a new ID continually.

Then the "games" would begin. Dredging up old topics and filling the first couple of pages with them. Pretending he had a layout selected by MR for a photo spread. Impersonating other forum members. Insults, taunts and profanity at all hours of the night. Sleep

Some of his stuff was funny, I have to admit. But then he would cross the line with the profanity and personal attacks. Also I would not want to be the moderator or staff member who had to clean it up on a Monday morning.

So if your post count is low they may have to approve you.

Edit: Yours shows only 2 at the moment, looks like you have been stricken by the disappearing post virus Dead

Why after all these years did I receive an emal telling me that a reply I made to a topic was approved? Never got that before. Nothing was improper in the reply.
