Thanks everyone. I knew it was old. It will be a nice addition to my layout.

 From notice in RMC

There is a CD titled  Summer Job, Working at the Cliff Line -  Memoir,   by Jack Neville

It is a history of the company.

$15.00 postpaid from:

Jack Neville, 655 Shelter Ridge Place, Nipomo CA 934440-5720

jgn141@gmail.com

I tried to sell my two cents worth, but no one would give me a plug nickel for it.

I don't have a leg to stand on.

I don't think the "Cliff" in Cliff Line is Cliff Grandt. Cliff Line was in North Hollywoord, Grandt Line is up in the Bay area. I remember seeing the ads in old Model Railroaders, but there doesn't seem to be much information on the company. They did do TT stuff. They had a gallows turntable that was from Robico, and what little I've found is that some of their tooling was done by MDC.

Not sure on my memory either...but maybe an early offering from Cliff Grandt?

My memory is not as good as it used to be....but I remember Cliff Line being a manufacturer in the 1960s.  I would have to check my MR back issues.  I think they were more known for their trucks than anything else.  The trucks were supposed to be the equal of Central Valley in terms of detail and quality.

Another source to check would be the HOSeeker web site.  They have a very good database of old instruction sheets and catalogs from now-defunct manufacturers.

my thoughts, your choices

I recently received a The Cliff Lines wood model kit. It came as a bonus in a Campbell kit I purchased. Has anyone ever heard of this company. There was no bow included but it says it was made in North Hollywood which is in the San Fernando Valley in California which is where I'm from and I have never heard of them. Can someone out there help shed some light on this mystery for me. Thanks
