That's because they're scarce as hen's teeth on the prototype. About the only place you'd find such a thing would be at the approach to a major passenger terminal. Everywhere else the prototype would have two single crossovers paired and eliminate the four troublesome crossing frogs.

Prototype Double Crossovers

I am building all my own track for the layout I'm currently working on. This includes all the turnouts. One problem I have is that I haven't been able to find many quality pictures of prototype double crossovers. Does anyone know where I can find these(internet, book, etc.)?
