Jeffrey, you were included in pastoral prayer for healing at two church worship services today in Johnstown, PA. The neat thing about prayer is "you don't have any choice" when you are on "the receiving end!" For those of you who are banned from the Diner for trying to enter without shoes or a shirt, here is the text of Jeff's message:
Made my escape from the hospital today. The ride home was uneventful. The fireworks started when I got here. I got down out of the van OK and got on my crutches and started up the driveway to the house. Just then one of the rocks in the driveway decided it didn't like me and rolled under the one of the crutches and threw me off balance and over backward I went. I got a real good look at the sky. Nice and blue with a cloud here and there. I was also quite helpless! So I told the van driver to go to the house and get a wheelchair that's in there. That was the easy part. He then had to pick me up under the shoulders so I get my good leg under leg under me and get to the chair. Not an easy task for a 65 year old man to lift a 250 lb man. Once he got me to the house I could get to my mothers old power chair (Hoveround wannabe). The next adventure involved getting on and off the toilet in my fathers bathroom. There's barely enough room for the chair in there. I manged that without incident. Getting out of that hospital gown and into some real clothes was interesting to say the least. I'll have to see if something I can grab or lean against can be put in my room so I can get into my clothes without doing the first seven steps of the ballet. The 'lay down and pull' routine works for most of getting the pants on but there's that point where I have to stand and pull them up the rest of the way. It's going to take some getting used to but I'll be able to adjust to it eventually.

Jeffrey- Glad to see you are on the mend. I have not had time to check in regularly due to the fact that I met a young lady and proposed to her and glad to say she accepted. Some of you may have heard me tell my age (52) but the young lady I meet is only 21(it's not whats on the outside it's what is in the heart). So Jeffrey good luck in recovery ( by the way spell checker is still not working for me).

I just talked with Jeff. He sounded great! Says he will get out of hospital (Oakdale, LA) in next day or two. It was a short call because a nurse came in the room to take care of something for Jeff.
I read several of the posts to him, and he is very thankful to each of you! ..... He said : "Tell my friends in the forums I appreciate their support and I am thinking of everybody in the forums. "
Next, he will go live with his Dad for a few weeks. He has a computer there for the internet. If all goes well he can return to the forums in a few days.
I must say, I am very impressed with all of the replies in this thread. Each of you is a very good person.
Prayers continue for Jeffrey!

Jeffrey, buddy, I've always said from the time I've read your first post that I'd like to get to meet you someday. I think you're a very talented and resourceful modeler. I've even copied some of your advice for future or present reference on the way some of the things are done on your railroad that I can adopt. I also like and respect your commentary on this forum. Get well and up and going soon. You'll be in my prayers.
