yep I've been watching like a hawk and snatching up what I can.
The DRST is a fictional rail company that is merged with a bigger company SFI. Duprey Rail Services carries just about anything(mostly piggyback trains though) to various terminals and industries in Washington. piggyback trains are the most common as Sampson freight industries is a trucking company that moves materials by road to where trains can't reach, while the trains carry the trailers to a terminal where trucks pick them up. this cuts down on trucks on the road, emissions, fuel consumption, and truckers having to be away from their homes and families. The primary power will be Dash 8's of varying models, some SD40-2's, and a handful of GP's to handle switching in the DRST's main yard located in the fictional town of Mueller, Wa.
the Dash 8's will be numbered in the 1000's depending upon class like the Dash 8-40bw's will be #1136 and #1138.
ex BN GP15-1 #1390, now DRST #1390

N scale model railroader
Good, I am glad you have another to "play" with again.
2x4 in N scale can pack quite a punch if laid out nicely.
There is a shortline farm supply line is a realm of real possibility.
You could call it the "apple pie express"!
tell us more about the fictitional DRST.
Track shortage is SURE to hurt those starting in the hobby and those starting new layouts. Just keep you eyes peeled at suppliers daily for incoming supplies of new track! It does happen occasionally!

Just my thoughts, ideas, opinions and experiences. Others may vary.
HO and N Scale.
After long and careful thought, they have convinced me. I have come to the conclusion that they are right. The aliens did it.
Time and space constraints limited me to another 2' x 4' but I've made the most of it and now have the ability to have a mainline train and an industry that a switcher handles. it's going to have a divider behind the station on the far side which will represent NP's stampede pass, and the near side will be representing somewhere in eastern washington. A farm supply distributor and apple distributor will be service by the NP and GN, the BN, and the BNSF and DRST(my fictional company).
Also that atlas track shortage, I'm working my way around it by getting what I can use. I have to say I love this code 55 stuff, amazing track.
