Well, let's put it this way, Amtrak--I'm on several different forums, one of which is the films of the great Hollywood director John Ford. Being quite knowledgable about his films, especially the Westerns, I enjoy the shared ideas between the other forum members, many of whom make me look like an absolute beginner, others who make me look like the proverbial Incredible Sage. I don't discuss my brass Yellowstones with them, I discuss John Ford movies. Ergo, when I get on the MR forum, being kind of an Eternal Novice, I like sharing ideas about model railroading. I'm certainly not going to ask someone like BoRockhard or Aggrojones or Don Gibson what they think of the first twenty minutes of THE SEARCHERS or whether or not they think Ford was fair to the Indians in his "Cavalry Trilogy." I want their opinions on the hobby. It's a MR forum. (of course, if they WANT to give their opinions on John Ford westerns, that's fine by me, I'll meet them on the other forum.) Anyhow, that's kind of what it all boils down to, for me. There are forums, and forums. I like to kind of stick to what the forum subject matter is all about. Believe me, you'll get to know a lot of us fairly well from our opinions on the hobby.

Modular railroading at its best!
If it has an X in it, it sucks! And yes, I just had my modeler's license renewed last week!
