Ok where are all the modelers from Ohio? where are you located and what Rail Road do you model?

I am from Cuyahoga Falls thats in the north eastern area of Ohio and my rail line is part based on serveral lines that run or have run thru this area like the B&O, Wheeling and Lake Erie, CSX, AC&Y. It more of a fictional line than prototypical one.

Always remember some people are like slinky's not really good for anything but you cant help but laugh when one falls down the stairs.

Roll call: South Euclid - on the east side of Cleveland.

I just started my layout 4 months ago and only have it on a 4 X 8' table, on top of extruded foam. I'd like to eventually expand it so that it becomes an around the wall layout, with the 4 X 8 serving as a turn arround and junction - with servicing capabilities.

At present, it's New York Central (ca. 1940 - steam/early dieselization) - running between two fictitional towns, Lewiston and Clarksburg. I'm affectionately calling it my "Lewis & Clark" run.

[bow] My hat is off to all of you from the buckeye State I figured there would be more of us. George I am a very proud customer of Trains Etc.I just saw Chuck this afternoon. In fact I have even visited the Cuyahoga Valley set up at the other shop but Trains Etc is my favorite shop. I was really hopeful that there were others close that I would be able to get together with to get ideas and advice or just share thoughts. I model In HO scale and my layout is in the process of a major overhaul. It is going from a 4x14 layout to an around the room shelf layout my first ever of this type and size and it will have a dog bone on each end for turn around.

Way down in a little place called Scottown, 15 minutes north of Huntington WV.
My layout is a 10x 12 dogbone in a shed, Transition-era diesel and steam. The locos are C&O, and the rolling stock is a mix of midwestern/northeastern lines, i.e., Erie Lackawana, Reading, Norfolk Western, PRR, etc. It's basically a freelance layout loosely based on the kinds of industries and architecture found in eastern Ohio/western PA.

I grew up in Grafton, in Lorain County, where the former Big Four main crosses the B&O (CL&W) line to Lorain. (My family and I now live in Wisconsin, though most of you probably knew that already).
I model the Toledo Division main of the NYC (specifically the operations out of Elyria), circa 1962, in HO scale.

Terry (aka MReditor),

What color scheme are you using on your NYC layout, as far as your buildings are concerned? Are you goiing with the light gray/dark gray or light green/dark green? If you are going with the green, what shades and what manufacturer of the paint are you using?

Well, I lived in the Dayton area (Englewood) for about three years in the early 1970s so I was a buckeye for a while. I model ATSF, UP, etc. now, but of course I live in Missouri near those prototypes.

I'm in Torrance, California now but raised in Lima, Ohio. I used to ride down to the Amtrak station and watch trains pound the diamonds at the Chessie/Conrail crossing in my early teens (can't remember the name of the tower that controlled the crossing.... it's gone now [:(] ).

My layout will be a short line that interchanges with the B&O, but probable locale will be in West Virginia area (coal country). Guess I could set it in southeastern Ohio at the edge of the Appalachians. Must do some more research!

Roll call, St. Marys, Ohio on Grand Lake. My railroad is presently just a 4x8 layout but is built to be expanded in the future. I model Union Pacific on a pretty much fictious line with an emphisis on building with kits and doing a lot of weathering and detailing. I am going to retire in December and I'm looking forward to a winter with lots of time for railroading. Joe Voisin Sr. St. Marys, Ohio

Roll call: Canton. Have had one HO scale and two N-scales in the past 25 plus years. Have recently moved into a ranch that we expanded. I have a newly built basement room dedicated to a layout; but it is unfinished and filled with storage overflow. However, I have been planning the room finishing and the layout that will occupy it: an around the room N-scale.

BTW, I have a little grandson who lives in Cuyahoga Falls.
