I has too much fun scratch-building this one not to share it with everybody;

As for the question; "Is there a prototype?"  The answer is: "I certainly hope not!"

I have figured out what is wrong with my brain!  On the left side nothing works right, and on the right side there is nothing left!

Great work once again everyone! I missed the post last weekend, I had too much to do! One of the things was my newest painting of the station here at East Salamanca as it appeared in 1938. This station is the most important RR structure in my life. My father was a B&O operator for over 30 years here, and I worked out of this station as a Conductor, and later Engineer:

I did manage to work on the layout a little. Here's a shot of B&O 2784, who rarely ventures out of East Salamanca yard, but we gave her a chance to stretch her legs and handle the ES to Bradford peddler. She's set off a handful of cars and is ready to return north to East Salamanca:

Usually, this job is reserved for B&O Q4 Mikado 4476:

Everyone have a great week!

George,

You did a wonderful job with the Texaco Station!! I love those lights you installed, and the car lift really sets it off. Well done!

Thanks, the car lift is included in one of the JL Innovative Design gas station detail kits. The lights are Viessmann, a new Walthers vendor. They are a small PC board with a surface mount LED; 10 pack for $36, list price - they come in a few colors. I used 3 lights, one under the car so the lube guy would show up.

We are just starting the scene that has the gas station, and need to do 5 or 6 more buildings as well as completing the roads which are roughed in at this time.

Great stuff so far guys. Keep them coming.

Here is a recent photo from the BRVRR:

Keep the photos and ideas coming everyone. You always make this the best thread of the week.

This week I finished a couple of items for the Boothbay RR Village layout.

The Texaco station is a City Classics model with JL Innovatiative details for the gas pumps and in the garage. The vehicle is a MiniMetals Dodge Medowbrook with an added driver figure and a teenager in the back seat; it is being serviced by a pair if Woodland Scenics figures. The station will be installed in the hillside village scene which is presently under construction.

I added a CG Laser utility body kit to the bed of a Mini Metals Ford F-350 pickup.

This is an inexpensive and simple kit for someone who wants to see what laser cut wood kits are all about. It does have some fragile wood parts, but that is part of making kits like this.

those look great CJcrescent!

here's a video of the Olympia zephyr as it passes the station Curts already gotten a sneak peak at the train eh curt? Wink

Edit: The Olympia Zephyr was a later passenger train that disappeared in 1960 after the E5A had been pushed to other duties as newer units were replacing them. this locomotive would run from Chicago to Olympia over GN trackage, often assisted over stevens pass by the class Y's. this train would also some times meet NP's Centralian train in Olympia, before the Centralian departed North to Seattle.

Here's some for you CB&Q fans. These are some models that I painted for a client, and the third is one that I restored. It was one of the engines that Nickel Plate Products brought out that was nickel plated. There was tarnish, and finger prints all over the model.

First a SW-1000

Second is a 35 tonner. Its an Overland product from before they started offering their engines prepainted.

Finally, this is the nickel plated engine I restored, a CB&Q S-4 Hudson. First the engine

And last the tender.

Two or three WPF ago, I tell You , I was in the way to write an article about the construction of laser kit for a belgian train magazine.

In the vision of this article two models were needed, the first I show You a few weeks ago and the second one now; I just finished it this week.

It started as an Nscale Majestic Hardware store by Bar Mills. Some details were added and I did'nt follow exactly the roof covering proposed by Bar Mills.

Both kit are show togheter in the third picture.

My version of the Majestic Hardware store,

The first kit, a Branchline trains mills,

The two kit togheter,

Both kit will be placed on a base which will be the third part of the article.

Have a nice WE.

Great stuff as always guys. I always enjoy coming on here and viewing the amazing work. I have had a busy few weeks with getting some weathering and custom painting done.

The first project was converting this Intermountain Gevo from a Ferromex livery into the Southern Heritage scheme. I think it turned out well. I just need to finish the stripe on the bottom of the cab and give a light weather which as you will see in the rest of pictures is not my strong suit.

Next I am beginning to weather my TopGon coal cars to which the Southern will be teaming up with an SD70ACe to provide the motive power for the drag.

And then I recently on a trip out west saw some UP engines that were tagged and thought they looked really unique so I created two of them.

Dash 9

SD70M

That is all for me, next week I should have photos of my current project a Santa Fe Warbonnet that is rough and I do mean rough.

This week I've been working on the Cheyenne Depot Station. I am kit bashing a backrop building using the Walthers Milwaukee Station & Train Shed kit.

Here's a sneak peak at my progress. I've still got 3 more pieces to paint, then I'll work on the roofs next.

Thought I might sneak in to start WPF before The Bear this week.

Gidday James, A very timely sneak Big Smile. I've been persuaded to get my pencils out and do a drawing for a wedding present, an  aviation subject this time, so apart from a couple of hours track laying at the local club,  no car kit assembled this week.

Looking forward to get my weekly fix of Good Stuff, off to a great start already. Thumbs Up

Have A Great One Folks,

Cheers, the Bear.

Wrumbel: Welcome to Weekend Photo Fun with your first post! The brickwork on your freight station is outstanding! .....

JR .... I like th FM C-liner. Scenery looks great.

James .... Thanks for startung Weekend photo Fun!.

This week I made a small bus terminal and I made a small trackside shed visible in these photos. The passenger train is a model of the Kansas City Zephyr in its final years when it was a short train. The DIner/Parlor/Observation car is one I kitbashed about 3 years ago from a Walthers Budd observation car.

Nice looking gear James.   Here is NH C liner 796 departing the gravel plant siding for the main to Danbury.

Still the  only corner of the layout not in plain foam.
