Well hey.....  close enough to the weekend for me!

I got a bit of scenery done in the train room over the past few days...

This is the area to the right of the hillside/mountain scene I have been working on.  The above is just the start of the forest.  The next step, to put in the brush along the edge of it:

Still have more to do there, just waiting for the glue to dry.  Here is the area right next to the hillside and you can get a better idea of how it will turnout when done:

Still a bit more to do, but getting there.

I have to get in on this weekend, even if it is to post an older photo.   Love the trestle and gully, by the way.  And the interior of the vehicle hangar looks marvellous.

Now that the Boothbay Railway Village has closed for th season, it's time to start some larger projects that we could not do when the museum is open and we have to run trains every day.

We have installed a profile board across the back of the layout to support hillside scenery. This will hide a 3 track hidden staging, part of the return loop on our HOn30 narrow gage section, and a narrow access between the layout and the wall.

We have installed tunnel portals on tracks going to standard gage hidden staging and the narrow gage return loop. The double track standad gage line is visible across the back side and will go to a depot and connection to the narrow gage line.

The power plant and substation I finshed a couple of months ago is installed along with tracks for the coal dump and loaded car tracks. Lots of scenery and details to add to finish the scene.

We have started work on a 50s vintage hillside village. The roads and scenery profile are roughed out. Still working on what buildings will go where - we have a John Deere tractor dealer, a gas station, diner, post office, fire station and a few others in the planning

Hopefully, most of this will be finished or well underway by the time the museum opens next May.

I have not posted in WPF on this forum in awhile..not really sure why either =)

Here is my most recent project, Mr. Humphrey's House this is a small house that I have added a small addition for a bathroom. I also added some flowers and vegetable garden. I still have some outdoor details to add, but I am happy with everything so far.

These are a few custom painted NKP models I have done. I am nowhere close to having my layout done, so I took their photo on an old module that has been stripped.

Excellent work this week (as always). This week I took a plain RTR Athearn F7 and detailed, painted (top) and weathered it. Currently it has a SoundTraxx mobile decoder. The paint was a rattle can of Tuscan Red Scalecoat paint and heated Valspar Flat finiish. The detail parts are Cal Scale.

Looks like this is turning out to be "half-finished projects" weekend.  Here is a little laser-cut kit I was working on Thursday while the turkey was in the oven.

I envision it as a hunter's cabin in the woods.  I have a little foundation and a porch gluing up on the workbench.  Eventually I will run a wooden stairs down to the parking area, and plant trees all around it.

I have figured out what is wrong with my brain!  On the left side nothing works right, and on the right side there is nothing left!

Nice photos every one.

Looking back.

Rolling toward disaster.

This 35 car C&HV train detailed just a second or two after I took the photo..17 of the 35 cars will leave the rail inside a tunnel..I still don't know why the train derailed and the bigger mystery is how 17 cars left the rail blocking both mains.

Great stuff as usual this weekend.  Here's my contribution, a late afternoon water stop at Bassetts on the Sierra Buttes, just west of Yuba Pass.
