                                                             Presents

                                 Unstoppable II

While you guys were all over on the "At what cost" thread I was making an epic!

It's a movie where once again Captain Kirk goes back in time. This time to the end of the steam era where he enlist the help of Denzel Washingtons Grandfather. Considered the best steam engineer in the country, together they chase down a runaway freight train. Watch the pulse pounding action as Captain Kirk tries to push an old steamer to near warp speed. It's not for the faint of heart!

Truth is my father in-law lent me his bike helmet camera and this is the best I could do.Whistling

These kinds of videos are always fun!

I really like the view of your kitchen, by the way. Big Smile

Well done. Oh, the suspense!!  Almost spilt my coffee. Great to see something different with 'train cam'.

Wow, that was sooo cool!   I confess I'm a bit disappointed cause there was no big crash, but otherwise it was a great look at your layout.

Looks like you took over the living area of the house, or is that a family/rec room?

You have some really nice runs going on there, and with a yard, sidings, and engine terminal it will be terrific!

Thanks,

Mobilman44

Very cool!!  You have the beginnings of a terrific layout.

There's never time to do it right, but always time to do it over.....

Thanks guy's The layout is definitely a work in progress. So far there is nothing I would change, Given all the doors the window and fireplace I had to deal with I think I got the best bang for my buck.

I thought I would have a bit of fun with my father in-laws bike helmet camera. It is pretty weighty for the little flat car I was using, so the rocking and rolling was greatly amplified as it coursed around the layout.

Mark B. that is not my kitchen, it is the bar/ crew lounge I had put in before I started the layout. I prefer an around the room bar rather than a stand behind type. It takes up less train space.Laugh

Mobilman44 I have the layout in what was the Nanny suite. I was counting the days until the kids were old enough and didn't need a Nanny any more. The suite is about 950 Sq. Ft. so far I have used 360 Sq. Ft. for the layout. I can expand if I wish to but I thought I should see how much progress I would make with what I have.

Thanks Guy's

Hi Lone Geep.

I had to go count. It was 35 cars long. When parking is scarce on the layout it's best to keep things moving.Laugh I really need to get going on my yard, then I should have plenty of parking.

Excellent video!  I like how you ran up beside and paced the other train's engines.  You could hear the diesels running!  Well done and a great tour to boot.  It looks like you'll have a nice long run when you are finished.

Brent:

Really enjoyed the video--all you needed was Chris Pine and that exploding hopper car, LOL!  I like our layout, you've really got room for the trains to 'stretch out' and get in some great running.  Kudos!

Thanks Dragenrider and Tom.

I just watched the real "Unstoppable" again last Saturday night on Blueray. We watched the extra's after on how they filmed it all. What an undertaking in logistics it was to film. For all its faults Tony Scott deserves a pat on the back for making an exciting movie.

Apparently the local wild life had everything cleaned up by the next morning, when they were filming the hopper scene.Dinner
