does the MRC Tech 4 200 power pack work with N guage? Or is it strictly HO? I think any HO power pack also works with N. Am I right? I could always look this up in Kalmbachs wiring book (I forget what it's called) but it's all the way across the room, & I don't feel like getting up.

The electrical requirements of N and HO are compatible (so is O scale). You won't destroy your N gauge locos if you use it.
However: It's possible that you may not have as much fine control or slow speed running in N. You can probably run longer multiple powered units in N than in HO as the amperage requiremnts are lower.
An N scale power pack can be used in HO as long as the loco doesn't draw too much current (amps).
