I found the entire series of Extreme Trains to be interesting. I was looking for them to do another series but I guess the numbers weren't good enough.

I liked those too. Still remember them changing the wheelset from under one of the refers.

Looks like they've skimmed a few. I had just over 11K before the upgrade. Whatever...

jeffrey-wimberly Being the show was probably aimed at the younger crowd it was likely deemed as adequate
Hey Jeff,
Now I know I'll like it.

Yea, the host can go a little overboard sometimes in his enthusiasm. I saw an episode or two and found them interesting and educational - for the most part.
I have the 'Extreme Trains' DVD also. I got it last year at a good discount as a History Channel Life Member. Matt Bown is no great shakes as a host but he got the job done. Being the show was probably aimed at the younger crowd it was likely deemed as adequate.
Hey Marlon,
Based on your reccomendation I ordered the video from Amazon.
From the reviews it sounds like that the video would be excellent choice for modlers who have children. Today most of us never see a real live train much less any steam. It would be easier to introduce children to train modeling if they saw what the prototypes were all about.
I just happened to catch four episodes of the PBS shows called "Extreme Trains". WOW! Those were neat! All four episodes were so good, that I looked (and found) them on DVD at Amazon.com. I wish there were more show running now. The ONLY train show I've been able to find on TV here is "Thomas and His Friends", and the latest ones are CGI, instead of running on the actual layout like the older episodes.
