When that happens I look for the cause and there is always a fixable cause..
I just operated 9 hours in the last two days with zero derailments at the Bucyrus,club-This is a old block building with lots of dust and humidity due to the door staying open for the fair goers.

Did the humidity change abruptly?
Here in Sunny Southern Nevada we had a humidity spike, from our usual single digit up to 60 percent as a wet cold front rolled through. It's still at 21% - or better than three times normal.
Didn't have any impact on my layout, though. Let's hear it for steel benchwork.
