I hate to spoil the fun, but this thread is, say, somewhat useless. The OP is invited to open a new thread, hopefully with a more meaningful title and a few words on what he would like to discuss.

I may have come late to the party, But:

I find the title to be misleading and lacking,

I find the body of the work to be very thin, light and airy, almost non-existant.

I still question the OP's desire here.

I gather it was about logos. What's wrong with that?

I DO find the signature to be valid, though.

I'd rate it a 2 out of 10 and

estimated value at auction: $2.00 US.

I model my prototype right down to - its logo?

WHAT logo?

The Nihon Kokutetsu in 1964 was a government-owned national monopoly.  If you knew just where to look you could find the six kanji characters that indicated ownership.  If you were within 20 meters and had good eyesight, you could even read them, assuming that they hadn't been obscured by the crud that accumulates on car frames.

One class of DMU had a stylized JNR next to the control compartment door - hyperslanted , in brass, about 100mm high.

OTOH, I don't have to worry about finding the right decals...

Probably because he was getting flak about the logo he displayed. So what if it was the actual logo of a railroad. How many have modeled a prototype right down the the actual logo? Guilty!

chutton,

Actually, there was a title.  (See subject lines in subsequent posts).  For whatever reason, the OP decided to delete the contents of his post, as well as the subject line. Huh?

Thread title is somewhat misleading.

Thread title for me is really misleading, since it is just a period ".", and a blank post by Batman, in IE9 with or without compatibility mode on.

My railroad logo is white Arial font "PDT", so I can use whatever standard Dry Transfer/Decals lettersets are still readily available in the market...

Well my freelanced St.Paul Duluth & Canadian's herald is at left, but you can't get better than GN:

Note that the goat in the herald's nickname was "Old Bill", not "Rocky". "Rocky" was a different (though possibly related) mountain goat used in 1960's GN advertising and on some jade green freight cars.

Thread title is somewhat misleading.  Original poster shows the logo of the Canadian Pacific Railway.  While he may be modeling the CP and uses their log, it is theirs and not his railway logo.

I was assuming there would be original logos designed for model railroads.  Post could just have been "post prototype railway logos".

Hey, my railroad is a prototype!  That is, it's the original one. No mention was made of scale... Smile, Wink & Grin

Why not have both?
