HO Modern Printable Containers Pics/Review
Posted by BigBlueConrail on Sunday, June 3, 2012 7:58 PM

I bought these containers through a seller on ebay that sent me the PDF file for the container. at 6$ and unlimited printable containers its not a bad deal. They are designed by "DigCom". I like them and my only complaint is that they arent easy to make and unless your perfect at making these they will always be a bit warped. I will say they do make great intermodal yard containers to fill up space and fill in until I can get some real UMAX containers whenever athearn decides to re-run the 3 packs.

Those look nice.  There is another site where can print some for free, but the aren't as good and their selection is rather limited.

I am in the same boat as you, I have plenty of 53' well cars, but no containers for them.  I need to do some more research and figure out which containers BNSF hauls.

I saw those on ebay awhile back.  They are nice looking, and the price is right compared to the Athearn/Atlas/IM versions.  Good to know youre relatively happy with them.  How do they do in the actual well cars?

They arent too great in the well cars since they arent 100% perfectly geometric but, if your better than me at making them which is very likely then you may have better luck with getting them in to the wells right.

Printable.  That means they are paper, right?

If they are, how about cutting some wood blocks the size the container would be, then wrap the paper around the block, and glue it to the block.  That would make them straight and add a little weight to the cars as well.

Elmer.
