Since I model the N&W and Southern Railway of the 1950's, I have a lot of steam locomotives. I have a few brass locomotives for N&W such as 2 of the W-2 (2-8-0), 2 Class A (one from PFM and the other from Precision Scale), Y6b (from Precision Scale), K-3 (from Key), M-1 from Sunset. In Southern livery MS-4 (Precision Scale), M (model of #4501), 0-8-0 (Overland), and FT A-B-A set (from Division Point). I have 2 Class A's from BTL and a Class J from BTL. I have 3 Atlas RS3's in Southern livery and 3 Atlas FP7's.

My HO scale railroad is a freelanced modern class 2. That means I run whatever locomotives I can get regardless of road name . All units will eventually be patched, I have already started this on some of my loco's. Here's the roster:

Road Diesels:

SP MK-1 class 2-8-2 River Rasin
SP MT-3 class 4-8-2 River Rasin displaying special passenger paint
SP M6 class 2-6-0, scratchbuilt, my first S model
On the bench: My beloved SP 4-8-0 project, a Bachman On30 2-8-0 is providing the frame and boiler for this project.
On the I wonder what this could be used for list: It occures that the Bachman On30 2-6-6-2 might be a source for building a M2 class 4-6-6-2 cab forward that would fit my branchline theme
Basket case 2-8-4, not sure of the orgins, appears to a blend of castings and someones first attempt at scratchbuilding, doesn't fit my theme, but just couldn't resist the oppertunity to redeem the poor critter from the trash heap!
Red Ball Baldwin 60 ton steeple cab motor, built up from a kit older then I.
Red Ball Westinghouse 80 ton boxcab cab motor, same source as above.
I would like to aquire one each additonal 2-10-2 & 2-8-2, tough to find as all 3 runs sold out within days of their announcement, gotta keep my wallet handy when I attend the next S convention!

My last post on this topic was on 2-9-2005.
I had no pike at that time, but have since been working on a shelf layout in a spare bedroom.
I have also acquired some more steam engines;

JunctionfanWhat is the locomotive roster of your railroad?
My loco roster is real simple right now:
Athearn Mikado in B&O, a bit of detailing to represent a Q3 class. Had been my workhorse for various club layout functions when I still had time for clubs. Always loved how it ran.
Spectrum PRR K4 3750, electronics died long ago, so it's strictly for display. Had planned to give it to a friend of mine but that didn't happen, so I guess I am meant to hold on to it. Eventually I'll send it to Bachmann and have them work on it.
My crown jewel, for now, is a Spectrum N&W 4-8-4 #611 excursion version with Aux. tender. I am working on adding details here and there, but overall really love the model. Though I am anticipating getting a handful of BLI Js as I find them, the price is right etc.
BRAKIE wrote:My locomotive roster is a representation of the C&O and Chessie(C&O).I do have some Chessie(B&O) units.I also have locomotives lettered for my C&HV..For other units I have 2 R.J.Corman,2 IHB.,1 MRS,1 Indiana Railroad ,1TRRA,2 CR,3 NS..Plus 1 C&O Allegheny.For my N scale all units are lettered formy C&HV except for 2 C&O RS1s..Also on order 2 GP38s and 2 B23-7s..All NS units.
My roster is so similar to Brakie's. I concentrate more on Chessie B&O with some C&O and WM.
Most power is Atlas, P2K, BLI and Stewart. Some older Athearn BB but they're seldom run anymore.

Since my recent change to HOn3 modelling, none of these locomotives are for my railroad's roster, but this is pretty much what I have on hand.
Operational (straight DC) units custom painted by myself.

GP40 Athearn Alaska RR
GP30 Bachman Alaska RR
F7A Athearn Alaska RR
GP38-2 Athearn Linus Ridge RR (a previous freelanced pike of mine)
RS-1 Atlas Linus Ridge RR (cab has been narrowed to resemble models made for the U.S. military)
GG-1 Rivarossi/AHM PRR (old model with pizza cutter flanges)
P42 Genesis Athearn fictional Penn Central paint scheme (don't ask!)
operational units (straight DC) in factory paint
GG-1 Rivarossi/AHM Bicentennial paint (old model with pizza cutter flanges)
GP38-2 BNSF Athearn
AEM7 Atlas (I just had to have one!)
operational units (DCC) in factory paint
RS-11 C&O
Like anyone who has been in the hobby for a while I have a box or two of various and sundry locomotive parts (mostly Athearn and Atlas) and more than a few projects in various stages of completion. I have a handful of old Athearn F units which may become fodder for kitbashing into WP&Y 90 class Shovelnose locomotives.

All are American Flyer with no shelf queens. Just fininshed going through the bunch cleaning lubing and running. One of my 283's just got fininshed pulling 9 loaded gondolas for a solid 8 hours Saturday and 4 hours on Sunday non-stop at a local train show, way to go A.C. Gilbert!
Here is the current roster: 283 (3), 312, 312 SIT, 300 AC, 342AC, 350 (2), 310, 322, 21085 (2), 290 (2), 293, 282 (2), 303 (2), 302 (4), 21107, 21160 (4), 356, 21088, 21066 (2), 21165.
