I know what you mean. I got a puppy recently, and she does the same thing. Maybe it's a female dog thing. What's worse is and she can get on the counter and take stuff. She jumped on the counter the other ay and took a bagel I was about to eat
She's already chewed up my weathering pastels, and the end of an MDC bulkhead flat. I fixed the car, but the pastels are done for. (too small for me to scrape)

Wants: 1. high-quality, sound equipped, SD40-2s, C636s, C30-7s, and F-units in BN. As for ones that don't cost an arm and a leg, that's out of the question....
2. An end to the limited-production and other crap that makes models harder to get and more expensive.
LOL
Marlon, you only think that you "broke her of getting on the layout".
Cats train humans, not the other way around.
By the way, save that cayenne pepper for seasoning your Hollandaise sauce.

Ah yes, the old "the dog ate my homework" excuse. Actually, I'm sorry you lost your hard work. We have one cat that lives in the basement, er, train room, and it took some work, but I finally broke her of getting on the layout (cayenne pepper makes some nice fall coloring).
Well, I'm home, The car is toast. At first glance it looked like it just had a big 'dent' in the side - hey, she weatehred it for me! but on closer inspection, on the opposite end the entire end corner of the car has been chewed off. The end post, side and end ladders, adn part of the frame are all chewed off. Also it seems violent shaking can dislodged CA'd pennies, as 2 of them are missing. Well, now I have a spare pair of Accurail trucks.

Bad dog!
No chew toy for you tonight...well, maybe that's a bad idea under the circumstances.
I was lucky Saturday. Had an ops session. We usually leave doors open that are usually closed -- to keep cats and trains separate. They're usually spooked by the noise, people, and feet and stay away. For some reason, two came down to prowl around. Not much I could do but crate 'em for the duration, but I took a chance. Surprisingly, there were no Acts of Cat to disrupt trains in the extensive hidden trackage that's so attractive to crawl around on...

Yeah, it's just an undec standard 55 ton USRA hopper from Accurail, they are always in production. I think when I got the three I cleaned out Klein but they may have more by now. It's the whole starting over thing that's annoying. Sanding the bays, not too big a deal, so far the hardest part was amkign the roof ends to the proper shape. At least she didn;t get the one I had the roof on already, at least, I HOPE not, if she did, she was up on my desk and tore open that box. FInd out when I get home tomorrow.
Ouch, that's gotta hurt.
Any chance of picking up a replacement, car that is, not dog ?
I was waiting for some tools from Micro Mark, which should be there by the time I get home. However, it sounds like I will only be building 2, not 3 - I was informed that the puppy got one of the boxes, tore the box open, and chewed on the car. grrrrr.
