A note on a note. the first one you gave the web sight for states that it has been replaced with #3171 on the top line. The other two you gave have the same numbers I gave.

One more small note. I just went to the Walthers web site. Go to browse by manufacturer, go to W, go to Walthers Cornerstone, select structures. The DCC turntables are at the bottom of the first page.

the 2012 catalog I have shows these numbers I listed with photos on page 417. I must have a misprint as I am looking at it at this moment.

Sierra Man
I have looked in the current Walthers catalog and also on their web site and there are no numbers that match what you mentioned.

These are on the web site:
 http://www.walthers.com/exec/productinfo/933-3135
http://www.walthers.com/exec/productinfo/933-2840

[Edit, oops, I got my numbers scrambled.]

As others noted, the built-up 90' built-up turntable has been replaced by a version with DCC control as an option, but will also work with a DC layout.
http://www.walthers.com/exec/productinfo/933-2849

And apparently Walthers  will offer the kit again:
http://www.walthers.com/exec/productinfo/933-3171

If the Original Poster finds an earlier built-up part numbers for sale, they should work fine. But if looking to buy new, it appears Walthers in only offering the built-up unit in the future with the extra electronics, which not everyone needs.

Many experienced folks have had trouble with the 90' kit, so I wouldn't recommend that to a newcomer, even if you do find one. But Sierra Man's post suggests that he's been able to make it work, so that's another data point.

poppaj, welcome to the worlds greatest hobby! I am afraid my friend that you may have some bad information. I have looked in the current Walthers catalog and also on their web site and there are no numbers that match what you mentioned. They have two turntables that are motorized and have DCC, one 130 ft. and a 90 ft. Numbers 933-2850 and 933-2849. The other one is # 933-3171, 90 ft. unpowered kit that you can motorize, with motor kit # 933-1050. I have the 90 ft. kit with the motor added. It wasn't very hard to build and serves me well. I rotate it with an extra power pack throttle, it gives me good control. I use DCC but it will work fine with DC. Have fun!

Welcome to the forums and to model railroading.

The 2012 catalog I have does not list either of those numbers.  The assembled TT is 933-2849 and the kit is 933-3171. *****  Just checked their older catalogs, 2840 is the assembled model in both of them, a type-o in the new one???  OK, just went to the website 2849 replaces 2840, the assembled version.  3171 is the kit.  The kit version is not available from Walthers, but the assembled is in stock.

From what I have read here on the forums everyone likes the assembled models of both the 90' and 120' versions.  Don't seem to be many fans of the kits.  All seem to agree that the factory assembled ones are much better and worth the price difference.

Don't have one so only am relaying what I have understood from other posts.

Good luck,

Richard

I am new to model railroading and I am building my first layout(not DCC) and would like to install a motorized 90' turntable. I was looking at the Cornerstone units #933-3135 or #933-2840 but I cannot find info as to how they differ or does one replace the other. Can you help? Thanx.
