Thanks Dougal, your post was entered just before mine, as you know their is a C32-8 thread, and I know whatever you reply, is always an encouragement to my day. My interest hear, is the 12VFDL engine. This particular unit parred the GP59, and was imported by OMI, from Korea, same as the Geep, and was a particular interest of mine. I remember, back in the good old days, when railpower products ran these two carbodies, people would request them, to replace the Dash 32-B, and the C39-8. I always figured they would regret the move...but anyway. Now I see that the NS has aquired both units. I never imagined! what a world, acj.

There is no need to shorten the frame. believe it or not, the B32-8 used the same chassis length as the B23-7, and U23B. So use the cut down carbody, on the Athearn U-boat chassis. Don't worry about wheelbase, if you were to cut a D40-8 chassis, you can handle moving the bolster, if needed. The carbody is correct, except for the six tall doors, instead of eight. Don't get stuck-up on the Atlas drive, the Athearn drive will do.

It wouldn't be easy.
