The simplified answer:

Create artwork using a vector-based graphics program like Corel Draw.

Print (a laser printer is preferred onto decal paper available from Walthers or Micro-Mark.

Coat sheet with Microscale's MI-12 Liquid Decal Film.

An inkjet can be used but is more likely to bleed on application and requires more drying time before and after coating.

Hi, Try typing in Custom Decals in the "Search our Community" about half way down the right hand side of this site. You will probably get enough advise to thoroughly confuse yourself.ConfusedBig Smile

advice on making custom decals
Posted by pickle01 on Wednesday, January 25, 2012 6:54 PM

Does any have any advice on making your own custom ( edited by moderator ) decals? I know it is taboo with us, but I am doing this for my daughter as she loved this car. Using photoshop to align the decals is new to me, I know I need to draw a block to square up the image. What else do I need to worry about. I am planning on doing a full side decal of a IC covered hopper I have photos of, It has a lot of black and pink with two unicorns meeting in the middle, taken in Cedar Rapids, Iowa last spring. Thanks Mike Richmond, ME
