Right now, MDC is questionable as to whether or not they are going to continue as a separate brand name, after they were purchased by Horizon Hobby and are being moved to California and incorporated into Athearn. They claim that nothing will change, but that is up to Athearn's management team now.

I am considering getting into HOn3 and would like to know more about the available locomotives. I have built a MDC 0-6-0 and like the way it runs,so does the MDC narrow gage 2-8-0 run good at low speeds ? Are there any other non-brass locomotives out there ? I think Caboose Hobbies sells a brand called MIM. Thanks for any replies. Joe G.
