Good to see this thread is out of the siding and rolling again.

The lead F3 is 116D followed by 116C, 120B, 116B, and 116A.

Is 117 out there?

Heartland Division CB&Q

Perhaps one of the monitors can advise about Steven's suggestion for breaking up the thread to make it more managable.

I notice that we have the ability to delete our own posts as long as no one else has posted a subsequent message.  Once they have, that capability is removed.  This suggests to me that random posts cannot be removed by the Moderators without disrupting the thread as an entity within the Forum.

Meanwhile, I suggest we keep moving. My 116 is waiting patiently. Smile, Wink & Grin

Well, as much as I dislike doing so, I swiped this image from the site of UNCLE DAVE'S brass model trains

#114

Because it's not my image, I'll also offer my own #115

Now let's see your #116. Smile, Wink & Grin

Darren ... You started a fun thread, and deserve praise for that.

I read somewhere that when a single thread gets a huge number of replies, it severely degrades the performance of the host machine.  That was why Bergie (remember him?) wanted to lock the original Coffee Shop [a.k.a. Elliott's Diner] thread and have us start new ones.

We could have new threads for ranges of numbers, i.e., this one for the first 200, the next for 201-400, etc.  The first post of each thread could have a link to its preceding thread, while a link on the last post would take visitors to the following one.  This way continuity can be maintained between the latest and the earliest.

I agree also:  this is intended to be a picture thread, and need be only as long as whatever the car number being shown is, plus, of course, any duplicates one may wish to post.  We do seem to be struggling, though, and posts such us this at least keep the thread on Page One of the forum.

Stourbridge Lion

I have to admit I don't know why the "Show Me" topic was broken up as topics like these to me make since to grow and grow and grow.  We have some active topics on other Trains.com forums that are nearly 150 pages deep and still growing.

My 2 Cents

i have to agree. If you break it up people will get lost. Some will continue to post on the older ones and some on the newre ones. What would be nice is for the mods to go thru this one and purge out the non related replies. Maybe those who posted comments only could do that as well such as these last few. That would shorten the post up a bit

This thread's getting pretty long. Should we start a new version every once in a while, like the "Show Me" thread? Maybe every 100 or so? Just an idea, please ignore the "Kalmbach" in my address. Wink

I would much prefer to use my own photos, but swiped this from Rapido Trains just to keep things moving along. Getting them this way certainly takes away the challenge, in my opinion. Whistling

I don't think that it's necessary to reserve number slots, as it is permissible to post duplicates of any already-posted number.  It would be preferable if this was done as soon as possible after the initial offering of the number, and if not immediately so (as in another version of #99 being posted after we've already seen up to, for instance, #107), that you also include a note, after your belated offering, that we're now looking  for #108.
