Guys, I'm busy trying to find some soldiers and sailors from the period commencing WWI up to around the mid 1960's that I can use to populate a naval base I am building. I have a few from NJ International two cracker jacks and an army guy in dress Khaki uniform.
Do any of you guys gave a line on where I could buy some more of these?
Thank you.
Dusty.
A company named Musket Miniatures makes pewter castings of military personnel from different countries and eras. You'll have to paint them yourself.
A few years ago Walthers had a WW2 set of soldiers to go with their Troop Sleeper and Troop Diner. If you check the Walthers site they may still have some in stock.
Here's a link to the Musket Miniatures web site:

Getting HO swabbies might be kinda tough. Soldiers are a good bit easier, but they tend to have weapons in their hands--not that common on a navy base.
You might consider getting similar people and modifying and painting them. Try maybe looking through the many pages of people in the Walthers catalog.

Not too much for sailors, but I have a 1950s military base on our layout so I'm always on the lookout for good US HO soldiers.

Thank you friends for helping me out.
I ordered two of the sets with the Cracker Jack’s and I got one from eBay.
Musket Miniatures are nice models just too old for what I want some go back to the British and some to the great unpleasantness so they are too old for my Navy.
Don't limit your search to figures labled military. There are many figures by Faller, Merten, Preisser and others that with minor modification or even just paint can represent military personnel. For instance many German railway personnel could with painting represent soldirs in dress uniform. There is a gas station attendent set where the figures could br painted represent soldures in fatigues.
I tried to sell my two cents worth, but no one would give me a plug nickel for it.
I don't have a leg to stand on.
