New express reefers from Broadway Limited
Posted by MRTerry on Wednesday, August 11, 2004 9:40 AM
We just received word that Broadway Limited Imports will be producing HO scale models of General American 53'-6" wood express refrigerator cars with factory-installed grab irons and Kadee couplers in more than a dozen roadnames, and in multiple numbers. Look for complete details in tomorrow evening's News & Products update.
Best wishes,
Terry

Outstanding news!

Finally, HO passenger cars and head-end cars are getting the same level of production as frieght cars have.

Now for some 40' milk cars next?

According to the announcement I got from BLI today, $26.99 for 1, $49.99 for a dual pack.

It's really kind of hard to support your local hobby shop when the nearest hobby shop that's worth the name is a 150 mile roundtrip.

For that to be true, someone would have to make the kit already, This is a 53'6" wooden prototype. IM doesn't make anything close. Only Sunshine Models has made this car in resin. There have been brass versions. No plastic.

Sounds to me like new tooling. Anything under $30 RTR is a winner!

And now Walthers is announcing a General American 50' wood express car. Same price range. Also in three roadnumbers!
