Were I to purchase an undecorated Atlas HO GP-38 or GP-40, what color would it be? Black, gray?

Thanks,
Roger

I don't know what color Atlas is currently using, but in the past, I have purchased undecorated locos from them and they have been gray.

Roger,

I have undecorated Atlas GP40's and GP38's from the last 2 runs and all are gray. I don't see any reason the current runs would be any other color.

Atlas has wised up to what most experienced (painting-wise) modelers have known for quite some time. And that is gray is an excellent base for any color or paint scheme they wi***o put on the unit. By using gray plastic, they eliminate the need to spray a gray base coat and avoid having one more layer of paint covering up the details.

If it has an X in it, it sucks! And yes, I just had my modeler's license renewed last week!
