I'm using Woodland Scenics trackbed on my N Scale layout. Also I use Woodlands track glue to glue the track to the roadbed. Even after balasting the track, the roadbed is still flexible. So any slight movement of a wood base doesn't affect the track.

have fun

I personally have used the Woodland Scenics Trackbed. I found it very easy use. It cuts very easily (duh, it's foam), manipulates easily around curves, and is very quiet. I simply glued mine down using Titebond wood glue and held it in place with push pins until the glue dried.

A buddy of mine recently finished his layout using cork roadbed. He complained that the cork was pretty messy to work with and also had to be sanded down a tad afterwards, mainly just to knock the edges off. I noticed quite a difference in how much noisier his layout is compared to mine.

Just my opinion ;)
