Thanks!

Just couldn't get that photo to link correctly and it seems I read that picasa doesn't play nice with the forum.

I used to have that little tower ages ago in HO.  It occurs to me that the TOP floor, frame construction with windows, could be used as a guard shack at the entrance to an industrial complex, a military base or a port facility.

The masonry BOTTOM floor could be the boiler or mechanical annex on a factory or commercial building.

Here is mine.

There is a railroad man in the window of the upper story, red light topside and white light on the ground floor. Since this photo was taken i have added a few more details.

Remember its your railroad

If I ever find the new soldering iron I got two years ago, I might get a better looking connection! In the meantime, I haven't had any dead spots on that particular module. It doesn't look better underneath, either:

Modules always have a risk of getting damaged in movement, so I try to make it easier to remove a bent track section and replace it. That's why I use pan head zip screws with the wire wrapped around it instead of soldering or suitcase connectors. It works for me.

John:

A little more heat on your solder joints will make a much better electrical connection.

I have one serving as a yard tower for O'Verda River Yard.

I also have the Walthers tower at the branch line crossing.

I painted the Atlas tower to match the Walthers, an gave them both green roofs.

I like it, but what really gets me hopping mad is the price on the N scale version. Why does it cost more than the HO version?

Got mine out that has been boxed up for a long time and put it on the layout and it will stay.

I  too like the look of the Atlas tower. I have 3 of them on my layout. I do however add extra details, shingle roof, and paint to improve its looks.

I have not done any detailing to mine yet but the tower is now my yard office.  I have it in just about the place it is going to be located when I start the scenery.

Edit:  It seems that mine is a little different... It is still an Altas interlocking tower! does that count?

Since we had a thread dedicated to Atlas's station kit, I thought it only appropriate to have a thread about it's equally ubiquitous cousin, the signal tower. Here one on my N Scale layout:
