Tank cars seem to come and go on the market quickly. To round up several recently, I did a Google search for specific types, like "Atlas 23,500 tank" or something similar, and turned up enough to meet needs. My source was a guy in New Jersey thinning down his collection.

I've not had much luck finding these at my local LHS's. Are there a shortage of these cars or are the manufacturers not making many of them anymore? At one time I had several which I traded/sold at flea markets and now I can't seem to find them. I have 3 really good LHS's near me and they all seem to be out, save "Beer Can" cars. What gives??
