A question about a photo in MR
Posted by pastorbob on Thursday, April 28, 2011 8:58 AM

The Feb. 2011 issue of MR is one that remains in the reading rack in the "reading room", and as I was "reading" this morning, a photo on page 39 of that issue really caught my eye.  It is a tower on Bob Seckler's D & H layout.  I have looked at that tower several times, and being a Santa Fe modeler, I am used to Santa Fe towers, but that D&H tower really appeals to my eyes.  I am curious about the interior arrangement.  I am assuming entery through the door with the little enclosed area, but then the photo shows the building takes an angeled rise to support the second story.

I am assuming there was (is) a staircase along the wall that goes to the second story at the back, but why the angled wall(s).  Why not just a two story structure.  I am guessing there is some sort of reason, just curious what it is?  And yes, I do like it.
