Helper Service: Searching For Instruction Sheet.
Posted by Anonymous on Wednesday, July 21, 2004 11:21 PM
Hello Everyone.

I am in a bit of a jam and I am wondering if one of you fine people can help me out. I bought the Bachmann Plus Locomotive Maintenence Facility the other day. All is fine and dandy except one thing. There were no instruction sheets in the box. I called Bachmann to see of they had any spares but that was a dead end as they informed me that since they had discontinued that item many years ago, they have depleted their supply of spare instruction sheets long ago.

Now I am hoping one of you guys has the instruction sheet for this kit and will be willing to make copies. If it were like the Car Maintenence building it wouldn't be that big of a deal, However there are many interior sub assemblys that require putting together and I do not have the faintest clue as to how they are supposed to go to gether. In contrast to the Car maintence building, which only has jack posts and walkway platforms to worry about.

If you have a set of instructions for this kit and are willing to make me a copy, please respond.

Sincerely,

James R Mitich.

a befuddled Student of Big Sky Blue.

P.S. Yes even long time pro's like me still need the instruction sheets.

What? You're not into guessing and having spare parts.[swg] Sorry I can't help in your quest.

I finally figured it out the other day. I knew I had seen that "Free drinks in the dome car" signature before. Have UP's antics gotten your "goat" that badly, that you felt the need to change your screen name James?

James,
I believe that the NMRA's Kalmbach Memorial Library has a file started for old instruction sheets. It's an outside chance that they might have the instruction sheet you need. Try an Email to Brent Lambert: KALMLIB@aol.com. If he does, you'll have to pay a reasonable reproduction fee.
Also, if there are any numbers cast on the sprues adjacent to the various parts, that might be a clue as to the correct sequence for assembly.

In short the answer is Yes. Union Pacific's antics have soured my appetite for any models relating to that road. I will fini***he Union Pacific themed projects I have currently started. But upon their completion I will not do any more. When the paint falls off the locomotives and freight cars 20 or 30 years down the line, I will repaint them for GN, BN, or BNSF depending on appropreit prototype. I refuse to support the antics of a greed driven organization who in the pursuit of every last penny they can earn, feel they need inderdict in the free and unfettered modeling of railroads. Those greedy [individuals with no father] can wrot in [the hot place ruled by Satin] for all I care. I will funnel my funds into depicting a more respecible railroad. If I later change my mind regarding Union Pacific. My motto is, "Have Styrene and Brass, will scratchbuild"

Thanks for the lead Bob. I will look into it.

James
