Railfanned another modeler's Olean, Bradford and Western today.

Chad,

Thanks for the compliment, as I built it it was hard not to grab the red paint, the additional detailing & my mind made it a CP unit. Also, when I started getting the decals on it, it really 'did' work, IMO.

Yes, I did send it to CP, one of the two people auto responded 'Out of the Office' so we'll see.

I think it could be 'Plausible'

Thanks again!

Great work everyone!

Crandell, another great steam locomotive photo.

MAbruce, thats a great trestle bridge.

Grampy, a wonderful scene. I need some water on my layout!

Here are a couple of shots from the BRVRR:

NYC GP40 Passing through Berea Station at the head of a short freight.

NYC S-3 874 draws a crowd as the crew prepares to move a box car.

Keep the photos and ideas coming guys. You always make this the best thread of the week.

What is the story with this backdrop? Is it a commercial backdrop? If so, where does it come from?

Graffen!

Very nice! By the way wan't that scene (your last night scene) also modelled by the late John Armstrong also? I believe I remember a picture of that scene also in an old Model Railroder?

Bedt regards, Olav

Busy week-end.

I almost completed my Bachmann gondola kitbash. I like to call them "Gondorella" since they started as ugly ducklings. About 60 hours spent in this project, and at least another 10 to come.

Just need to receive the airbrake parts to finish the underframe.

 CNJ831:

Nice rendition of Edward Hopper's 'Nighthawks', Gaffen. I love seeing well known scenes reproduced in miniature on layouts and always wanted to do that one, but have never quite gotten around to it. Do you perhaps have any further, 'daytime', photos so that we can see what the building's exterior and its surroundings are like in their entirety?

From what can be seen in your 'night' photo, the restaurant appears to be set on a bluff, or above a cut of some sort, making me wonder if you've executed the scene in the very same manner John Armstrong did on his layout years ago?

CNJ831

Thanks for seeing the resemblence Big Smile

I put it on a "overpass" so it came up a bit and also on the front of the layout.

I took this one today:

https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/_SMt4rGSRBYk/TZYvDD3dPFI/AAAAAAAAB7g/CaM4eqBwGxo/s640/DSC02099.JPG

As you see, there is some work to be done yet.

Very nicely done. And...I'd bet that with a little adjustment and addition via Photoshop that you could clip out and add a roofline cornice to the top of the brick building on the left side of "Nighthawks" and, attach it right to your wall, giving the correct exterior background to the restaurant. Although, you've probably thought of that already and are in the process of working it out! Wink

Great photos this week include Graffen's "Nighthawk' inspired cafe scene, DJ's trout fishing scene and UncBob's pasture scene. Actually, I like all the pictures. Great stuff!
