For the DCC ready (Non DCS 3.0 equipped) MTH locos; When you plug in a NCE,digitrax,Lenz or any other NMRA DCC decoder. It will operate exactly the same all your other DCC units. This is why MTH is offering these locomotives this way.

Have fun!

I have an MTH SD70ACe NON-SOUND unit. It came DCC ready with a plug.

Are all the problems other people are talking about, like using long address and consisting, associated with the non-sound units.

I am assuming that when I install a TCS or NCE decoder I should be able to run it like all my other DCC units and program it like my other units.

I do not usually assume anything because, wellll you know why........
