DSM tank cars and others
Posted by Junctionfan on Monday, July 19, 2004 12:45 PM
Does anybody know about thease white 50 foot tank cars with DSM roadname on it. If so, what are they carrying and what are their reporting marks and numbers?

Has anybody seen any tankers stenciled for Menthyl Methacrylate Monomer?

Also I am trying to find dupx tank cars stenciled for Anhydrous Hydrogen Flouride. They have a simalar paint scheme as those SBLX sodium hydroxide solution tanker except the black is bright red.

Thankyou for any help you can give me.

Junction,
Have you visited the "fallen flags" site to determine if there are any photos of the Anhydrous Hydrogen Fluoride cars there ? I didn't check them all, but there are many Du Pont cars at that site, for example:

BTW, I think you mean Methyl Methacrylate Monomer vice Menthyl. That's Lucite, isn't it , once it has polymerized ?

Lucite and Plexiglas are both trademarks for polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA).

Junctionfan,
Went back to the "fallen flags" site. The easiest way to find Dupont cars is to go to:
http://www.rr-fallenflags.org/misc-d/misc-d.html
and just scroll down to Dupont.
Based on a Google search, I think you may have to search for ACAX reporting marks for the Anhydrous Fluoride cars.
Thanks Ericsp !
