I guess this is probably all tied up with Hornby trying to buy Rivarrossi's parent company the Lima Group which was in financial trouble.

I heard a rumour that Rivarrossi have stopped production while all the legal stuff gets sorted out in the Italian courts. Lots of places are saying supplies of Rivarrossi will be very limited for the next few months.

Quote from Hornby's press release 31 March 2004:
QUOTE: "The proposed acquisition of certain assets of Lima S.p.A is also proceeding to plan. If, as expected, we are able to complete the acquisition of the Lima assets later this year, we will be in a position of brand leadership in model railways in Spain (Electrotren), France (Jouef), Italy (Lima/Rivarossi) and of course the UK (Hornby)."

Its interesting to note that Hornby don't mention the American market, I wonder if Rivarossi's American lines will be sold off to someone else - the name Walthers springs to mind[}:)]

The single cars have been cancelled by Walthers. Check their website.

I've got two coaches, two combines, and one RPO for sale, if anyone's interested (NYC paint; I only really wanted two baggage and one RPO, but bought two fourpacks once I heard the singles were cancelled!). Email me offlist.
