.... I'd just like them to actually *make* the SW7s they've been promising us since last year! [:-,]

I'd like *someone* to make a model of a U18B - if its BLI so much the better [swg]

An Alco HH660 would also be good.

I would like to see them produce a quality DD40AX. And I would also like to see an SD40T-2 or an SD45T-2. And for the GE side a C39-8 or an ES44AC would be nice![8D]

I like to see them (or someone) do the GE 70 tonner again. It'd probably be superior to the Spectrum unit, and I might be able to afford two to run them MUed back to back. I'm weary of having to hunt down old ones. Same with the EMD SW-1.

Just my take, though, any are welcome.

BLI engines are courious constructions !!!!!!!!!!!

They are designed in a new stile: BLI create models around existing QSI sound decoders!!!

That´s true!!!! None of that decoders is a special BLI construction!

Take a look into the QSI page - currently under redesign - you will see that all decoders that BLI use are older - 2 to 4 years.

AND YOU WILL SEE THAT THE BLI`S ARE CHEAP: ONE OF THIS DECODERS WILL COST ABOUT 189 $.

So I think that some models - like the doublediesel DDA40X - are impossible in the moment.

And my answer for the poll: THE EMD SD90MAC-H or the SD90MAC-II - the 6000 hp versions!!!! (ALSO NOT POSSIBLE - the 265 diesel isn´t available at QSI)

I can't vote, 'cause there's no "other". Modeling 1950, I really don't need much in the way of diesels that haven't already been produced by other manufacturers (and probably done better, judging by the way modelers are complaining about their "generic" diesels so far).

If they were to come out with a pre-1950 diesel that both I could use, and which hasn't been made yet, my vote goes towards an Alco HH-660!

How about a Baldwin Centipede? I've got 5 BLI locos--all steam--and they run like Swiss watches and sound like the world's coming to an end, they're so GOOD! The only diesel I've heard so far is their E-7 down at my local hobby shop here in Sacramento, but if BLI was to produce a Centipede, I'd be the first there, elbowing everyone out of the way to get it. May BLI live forever! GREAT STUFF!

It would be cool if they would do the P-42 in Amtrak and Via; also I would like to see the various roads that use the AC4400CW and the C44-9W. Also the SD80MAC would be cool especially if they did CSX yn3 scheme 800, 805 and 812.

My choice is not on the poll. I'd like FL-9's in NH and PC paint schemes. Some could argue a limited audience, but they did (and do now) run for several owners and I think the NH fans alone could make this worthwhile.

First, answering the poll: An other vote here for an SD40T-2, and since they are at it an SD45. And above all, an SD9, with its inimitable chant. In both SP liveries, the scarlet/gray and the black-widow.

Second, what is a "SD9043MAC"?? An SD9 remotored with a 4300-hp AC engine?? I know of some gizmos, but never heard of this thingamabob.

Third, I can see that most of these polls are started by the same member Id. Is it somebody that asks random questions just because he doesn't know what to do else? Or is it a question endorsed by Model Railroader, that will officially ring Mr BLI and say "- Hey, here are the models our readers want you to produce"? It would be good to know if these polls have a real usefulness, or if we just loose our time with them.

bigboy4015 sez:

What do you want to demonstrate with your vociferous post? Do these "old-design" decoders perform well, yes or no?
If yes, then so what?
If no, just tell us why. So anybody thinking of getting a BLI engine can give it a second thought and may be avoid a costly deception.

Its a 4300HP SD90MAC that was delivered with 4300HP insted of 6000HP, both EMD and GE found out the hard way that for the time being engines over 4400HP don't work (IE, AC6000CW, SD80MAC, SD90MAC-H), no real SD90MAC's were built for North American Class 1 railroads, CP and UP own SD90MAC-H's but thats as close as it gets. Most AC6000CW's are now derated to 4400HP also.

Will somebody do a decent Baldwin Shark A & B units? I don't care if its BLI even. Proto 2k would be terrific, and I'd probably even rejoice if it was a Proto 1k item, as long as they got the proportions right ,and especially the trucks. Only problem is that I'd have to park my Model Power units somewhere on an isolated rip track so they couldn't be compared to the new ones. Seriously, this is one of the last remaining first gen cab units that hasn't been done by anyone in the fairly recent, " let's do it accurately as possible and charge for it " era of model railroad motive power.

A good ph1 FP7 - the new Intermountain may be OK, but a good Milw FP7 in orange/maroon with sound would sure be nice!

Let me take a look at the poll's suggestions:

DDA40X - Nobody but a UP fan would be interested.
AC4400CW - This would be nice for me, because I model 1999, but most people model earlier times
SD70MAC - Same comment as for AC4400CW
C430 - Everyone likes Alcos, except the railroads.
GP7 - Do we need another GP7 model? Aren't there enough already?
SD45 - There's even more SD45 models than GP7s.
C30-7 - I like this one, it's a fairly common engine that's not well represented in models.
B40-8 - Another good choice. Rail Power made a Dash 8-40B shell, but that's not the same thing.
AC6000CW - I believe GE doesn't market the prototype.
SD9043MAC - Another model I'd like, but I'm not everybody.
C424 - I don't care about Alcos.
C425 - See comment above
C630 - Yet another Alco.
Any Baldwin - How about the Baldwin 1500/1600 hp road switchers, which came in C-C, B-B, and A1A-A1A wheel arrangements?
Everything! - That would be nice.
