Yup, look at the post times of "yup, slower" vs "everything's fine"
It's I'm sure dependent on the backup and maintenance window for the database driving the forums.

Hamltnblue Anyone else notice lately that the forums are starting to slow down again? Not as bad as they were yet but it's been slowly been getting worse. Time for the IT folks at MRR to do their magic again.

Just fine here.

Noticeably slower today,
I'm in SC and the forum is fast for me. Using IE8 It may be your ISP, browser interface, firewall, virus protection or even a bug--hope not.
Richard
Only at night, after 10pm Eastern. Takes a while ro refresh after posting, etc. RIght now it is as speed as always.
No. Mine is running fine.
IE8 and Roadrunner.

Other forums and web sites have been running slow for me the past few days, too. This can indicate problems with your local ISP, or with traffic in general on the Web.

I just started my blog site...more stuff to come...

Oh the irony.... Model railroaders will spend hours, weeks, months tweaking and tuning their locos to creep as slowly as possible through the yard.... measurements in microns per day are most preferable.... But just let one byte from the Model Railroader Forum go slow.......
It's not my job to run the train;
The whistle I can't blow.
It's not my place to say how far
The train's allowed to go.
It's not my job to shoot off steam
Nor even clang the bell.
But let the dang thing
Jump the track . . .
and see who catches Heck!!

I use Google Chrome for a web browser, and this forum loads extremely fast for me at any hour.
The back-up takes place in the late evening/early morning hours CST. Apparently that can affect things.
Crandell
I have noticed it is slow in the evenings but fine at night. It must be too much demand on the servers or bandwidth.
"No soup for you!" - Yev Kassem (from Seinfeld)
And then three hours later it starts working again...........I'd be guessing not enough capacity on the servers.
Mark
Must be a "local" problem, as I have not noticed the forum to go slow...
"Speedy" as usual.
Slowing down I could live with, I think they need to go back to "Wal-Mart" and buy themselves some more servers, but then again, maybe they can't afford them, it's been a tough year you know..............
Seriously though, there really isn't much of an excuse for it being this slow....
I too thought it was on my end until I checked a few other sites like my Hotmail which is notoriously slow at times and they are all working at full speed as usual..................just this one.
Mother told me there'd be days like this, but she never mentioned so many and all in a row!!!
I think when it's passing through Denver it is getting frozen solid!

Yes, I am aware of it as well.
I thought it was just my server, on the one hand I am glad to hear others are witnessing the slow down as well.
Maybe we can get a "FIX".
I'm sure Crandell has passed it on to the MR. techs.
Night all.

Agreed, the past five or six days have been worse and worse.
Haven't noticed anything yet. However, this critter is old enough to vote. Never has moved too fast, might get tired.
I'll think about it next time I'm on.
Have fun,
