I like this forum!
Posted by simon1966 on Saturday, July 10, 2004 8:05 PM
I have only been seriously following this forum for the last few months. I have learned a tremendous amount and have experienced nothing but enthusiastic and knowledgable help and input. I find the speculation about how businesses will react to market trends facinating and actually enjoy some of the more heated topics of debate. I can't fault people for having passion about trains!! Anyway, I'm sticking around as I think this is a great little corner of the web. Thanks to all of you who are willing to take the time and trouble to share your wisdom.

I'm with you on that one. Because of this forum my layout has improved ten-fold. I would still be running on my 4x8. Truthfully I probably wouldn't be. I probably would have gotten bored with it and put it away again. This forum has made me learn and has kept me in the hobby. Very few freinds of mine share the love of this hobby for me so it's great to be able to share my feelings wwith people who know what I'm talking about. Thank you.

I have learned MUCH from this forum. I have made new friends from this forum, and not only do we exchange ideas, etc., on this forum but also by regular mail and phone calls.

If all you put into this forum is constant complaining then please take it elsewhere. If you think you need to threaten us as "I am going to leave this forum" by all means please do. Don't threaten us, just GO. Delete your account and leave.

IF on the other hand you want to contribute topics that help people learn, or exchange ideas, or make new friends in the coffee shop, then you are more than welcome here. There are people here of all ages and some of the younger ones have made post/threads that are as revelant as the older more experienced models have made. You can teach an old dog new tricks, if the old dog is willing to learn (I certainly am). I very much enjoy these forums not only to learn and share, but also just to chat and laugh. Not every thread is super serious, some are down right funny, and I am sure we can all use a laugh at times.

I do like this forum, and I hope you do to.

I also like the other Trains forums. Try them, you might like them.

If you want to stay and contribute you are welcome to do so. If you don't want to stay then go, don't make a big show of it, just leave gracefully.

Bye now.

Have a Good Day.

I'm glad to hear that you are happy here. I wish everyone was here was happy, but that is impossible. I get frustrated with some of the things I read here, and sometimes I ignore topics that sound bad or uninteresting. That's part of the deal. I don't care what some people say, this is a gerat forum!!! Enjoy and have fun!!![:)]

I really like this forum too. I haven't been here much lately because of summer activities consuming my time. I also am at the stage in my layout where I am doing pretty much the same thing for a while, and no new problems have come up. But whenever anything does come up, I always know I can get the answers I need here.

Some day I even hope to have enough experience that I will be able to help someone. In the meantime I just read, ask occasional questions, and post to some of the general interest threads. I don't like them all, and I guess I could do without the number of UP threads. That's why it is so cool that they built a back button in internet browsers! Everyone gets to say their piece but I don’t have to read it all.

Ain’t America grand? [:)][:)]
