I am new to model railroading and looking for companies that make wood kits. What are your favorites? I just finished a JL innovations model that I found in the Walthers book and wondering what other companies are out there. Thanks for your help.
You can do your own reserach, check out the ads in MR and other hobby magazines, there are many out there offering all sorts of buildings. You could also do a search on the Walthers website for laser cut wood structures.

I have had good results with Bar Mills and FOS so far...you won't go wrong with either of those,
Here is a list of all the companies. There are a lot. I have done many and they are fun if you like them. I just got an ImagineThat kit but have not started it. FSM is a superior kit for detail but harder. I liked FOS scale and Bar MIlls and Rusty Stumps and JL Innovations. I have not found a bad one, I also like Campbell but they are not Lazer and take a little more time. If you liked JL Inovations, I would look through all the listing and build one you think is interesting. I did find many of the best kits are not availble through Walthers or even dealers.

Why do research yourself or do a google search on your own for "Ho scale Laser cut wood kits" or something like that if you can ask a simple question here and have others do the work for you?

HO and N Scale.
After long and careful thought, they have convinced me. I have come to the conclusion that they are right. The aliens did it.

I was looking for input from people on their experiences with building wood kits and what companies they liked. Galaxy, thanks for the google suggestion. I had never heard of that site and appreciate the profound knowledge you gave me.

Glad to be of help, though I was being sarcastic.
google.com search engine is your best friend for any information or links. It is simple and easy to use, and you can type "HO scale wood kits"; "HO scale Laser cut wood kits"; etc, and similar to find what you're looking for theyhave great links to purveyors of, instructors of, products of, etc. your topic. It will even link you back sometiems to a thread here on this or other MRRing forums.
If you wnat to know "how to paint and assemble HO scale laser wood kits" try typing that in. You'll get lots of info that way too.
If at first you don't find what you are looing for on google.com, try changing your wording.
google is the best search engine around, and they spend millions to make sure it it.

....mmmmmm.....all this hoohaw over his question.
Did anyone bother to READ what he was asking here?
How about this...what has YOUR experience been in building these kits?
....as it is, I'm in N scale so the building of these kits is a little trickier, for me.
But, having said that, I can say that the kits seem to be better than the old bunch of sticks type that used to be around...

The list that Arthill posted is about as an exhaustive list that you could find. I have built a bunch of wood laser kits, several of the builds are linked in my signature on my picture trail site. I have a particular fondness for the JL Innovative kits because I think they are well priced and include a decent amount of extra detail parts in each kit. Their instructions are a bit wordy and perhaps not the best, bit overall they are one of my favorite manufacturers. The FOS kits are also very good although I find that some of the buildings are a bit fanciful and unrealistic. railroadkits.com also offers some great low cost kits that would be excellent starter kits to get into the swing of things.
