Thanksyou for the answer. I have been mostly building plastic scale models the last 15 years and just wanted to make sure I had not missed anything going back to working with brass.

As you've already used the Future for the base for the decals, I don't see any reason not use it for the sealer/finish unless you want something less shiney, then I would recommend an acrylic satin or semi-gloss from Polyscale or Microscale. Since you started with acrylic, I would finish with acrylic. There shouldn't be any issues of expansion/contraction.

Hello,
I am in the process of decaling and clearcoating a last run nickel plated brass Hallmark RDC-3. I used my scale modeling trick of using Future to give the decals a base to stick to. Now I am not sure if I should still use future to seal the decals. Its been awhile since I painted brass and I do not think i have ever sealed decals on nickel plate. Does anyone have any suggestions? Am I off base in thinking the future would be OK since it is acrylic and would expand and contract well with the metal?
Thanks
