I have replied to your "truss" bridge" question twice with links. I have linked to kits {which can give you the knowledge to build one on your own} and to site on how to build TRUSS bridges.
If you relly do mean a TRESTLE bridge {like Crandell has surmised} here again are some inks to TRESTLE bridges to help out:
I am not sure what you are looking for and any info I given here, is available to you over google too:

Kalmbach {our parent} used to have a book on building them. GO to the "shop" link at the above right top to see what tehy offer now or watch Ebay for the older books. Here:

After long and careful thought, they have convinced me. I have come to the conclusion that they are right. The aliens did it.
How large of a bridge are you talking?
Scenic express has bents, decking etc that lets you build some great bridges. You could also buy a couple of them and scratch wood and make your own by copying the basic form.

That's mine. I've built this trus-rod bridge for narrow gauge module. You see the step by step pics.
Hope this helps.

I am sure we are dealing with a modeling question, and I'll move the thread appropriately.
If I may, a truss bridge is probably not the correct term. If you mean an old-fashioned timber bridge, you would mean a trestle.
I found this site quite useful:

It is after the prototype or the Rio Grande Southern Railroad, but no reason why it can't be adapted to your needs.
However, if I am wrong, and you know that you definitely want a truss bridge, try this one:

DR. Anatomy Does anyone know a good web sites dealing with "How to construct wooden truss bridges from scratch?"
Does anyone know a good web sites dealing with "How to construct wooden truss bridges from scratch?"
Well I sure hope you're a modeller. If you're asking how to build a wooden truss bridge for a real railroad, you shouldn't be building one.
You have posted in "Steam and Preservation"... are you building a new bridge to preserve a rail line?
Google the terms you have quoted and you will find several web sites that describe all sorts of bridges, I am sure many of them include considerations and calculations for how to build a truss bridge from wood and what is necessary for support.
