I prefer Peco electrofrog . I don't normally use switch machines, so like the fact that the points lock in position. They are not perfect, but are generally trouble free and reliable.
Since Peco code 55 is functionally code 80 (its design makes it look smaller) it is easy to use it in yards and industrial areas to provide the appearence of lighter rail. I have seen coments that Peco tracl isn't American prototype (which is true), but there are many other brands which look a lot worse (some are actually very toy like).

I tried to sell my two cents worth, but no one would give me a plug nickel for it.

I don't have a leg to stand on.

You really can't go wrong with Atlas either.
