Hobby shops near Houghton/Hancock in the upper peninsula of Michigan?

I'll be spending some time in the Houghton/Hancock area of Michigan's upper peninsula, where a lot of coppy mining used to take place. I was wondering if there were any hobby shops in the area that might have inroads on local railroading.

A search in HobbyRetailer doesn't produce anything unless I go for the state of Michigan, and I don't know the names of local towns well enough. A search in the on-line phone directory produced a couple of crafting stores, but I doubt they'd carry model railroading stuff.

If anyone knows of places within an hour's drive of Houghton/Hancock, I'd appreciate it.

Zilch. There is one small one over in Marquette but I know of none up Houghton way. I'll be in Michigamme for the weekend, thank goodness I received my MR and Trains mags yesterday, at least something to read.

I don't know of any in the area. If you're lucky, the snow might be gone by the time you get there. [:p] The closest shop in Michigan may be in Sault Ste. Marie, or south of the bridge in Traverse City.
