Who makes the best figures?
Posted by Anonymous on Sunday, July 4, 2004 2:59 PM
I was looking at the new stuff at the Walthers site and I saw these new figures from woodland scenics. If they really look like the ones in the pictures, then they must be some magnificent creations.

Now, I can't decide wether to buy figures from Preiser or WS, would you please help?!?

To me, the WS figures look too "cartoonish".

Preiser IMHO makes very realistic looking people in HO scale.

I think Preiser still makes the best figures . The new Woodland figures are quite nice and have both on my layout. I also use Model Power and Life Like figures but not if they are where they can be seen close up.
The passengers at my station are all the cheaper brands but it is about 4ft from the normal veiwing area. If someone wants to go down the back service aisle they can see the differance.
This is not recomend as I have lost two operaters that went there to fix a derailment[:D][:D]

There is no such thing as a bad day of railfanning. So many trains, so little time.

I voted Preiser.

Just because they make all the right figures to have people doing naughty things in my sleeping cars.

Preiser by far are the best. And when you buy them "undec", they're almost affordable![:D]

Preiser and the Walthers listing is not conclusive.

Preiser, hands down.

Merten is also very good.

Atlas figures are kind of skinny and somewhat fake or unnatural looking . . . not sure exactly what it its.

Woodland Scenics are OK but as others have mentioned, look a bit cartoonish.

Go figure...
