Not a common thing in VT. A couple of years ago, half a mile up the road the roof of a 40'x60' shop lifted off and sent across the road and over a high barn. NWS confirmed it to be a tornado. Close enough for me thanks. (too close actually.)
Good luck,
I lived in Wichita Kansas almost the heart of tornado alley for 15 years. I saw exactly one. Most damage sustained was the shed behind the house was shifted off its foundation about 3 inches.
Definitely not good!
I had a funnel cloud pass right over my office building earlier this year, but it didn't ever touch down.
No tornadoes in Connecticut for 18 years, then Whammo! 3 in one year.

It must have been a doozy! It sucked all the ballast from the track while leaving the locomotive alone!
