As an Admin on the Diesel Detailer site, I sent Smokey Valley an email last week and got the following response today:

THANKS FOR THE CANDID REVIEW. THE WEB SITE IS ONLY A LISTING OF OUR SMOKEY VALLEY PRODUCTS, AND AS YOU AND OTHERS CAN SEE OUR PRICES HAVE REMAINED CONSTANT FOR MANY YEARS. OUR WEB SITE WAS PUT UP MANY YEARS AGO AND IS ENCASED IN THE OBSTACLES ESTABLISHED THOSE YEARS BACK , WE SPEND OUR TIME MFGING GOODS. AND TRYING TO KEEP PRICES AND PRODUCTS AFFORDABLE AND AVA. TO THE MODELING PUBLIC.
WE HAVE OVERCOME SOME MAJOR PRODUCTION PROBLEMS IN OUR BUSINESS LIFE BUT STILL PRODUCE. OUR PRODUCTS ARE AVA FROM WALTHERS AND PF&S WE HAVE, ON OCCASION SHIP PRODUCTS TO THOSE WHO HAVE EMAILED US. I HAVE GREAT RESPECT FOR YOUR FORUM AND MODEL RAILROADERS AND WILL TRY TO CONTINUE TO SUPPORT THE HOBBY WITH SMOKEY VALLEY RAILROAD PRODUCTS AS WELL AS OUR RECENTLY ACQUIRED TRAIN STATION PRODUCTS. ANY ONE WANTING TO CONTACT US CAN DO SO AT LARRY@SMOKEYVALLEY.COM. OUR PHONE TIME IS RARELY AVA AS WE WORK ON MR PRODUCTS AT NITE AND WEEKENDS. WE ALSO HOLD MORTGAGE PAYING JOBS MON-SAT.

The Smokey Valley cast brass & wire handrail sets are a BIG improvment to a number of my Athearn BB diesels. Glad to hear they are alive and well!!
