"MACK" trucks
Posted by willy6 on Tuesday, June 29, 2004 1:28 PM
Does anyone know who makes/sells the old "B-60 SERIES" MACK TRUCKS in HO scale?
Being old is when you didn't loose it, it's that you just can't remember where you put it.

Alloy Forms and Sheepscot. Try the Walthers catalog, or do a search on their website for "HO vehicles, keyword MACK".

Try this site for info

http://www.1-87vehicles.org/

I tried to sell my two cents worth, but no one would give me a plug nickel for it.

I don't have a leg to stand on.

Your looking for a B61, or B67(cutaway cab). And then there was the B61 with an integral sleeper. Enjoy Yor Mack Fever! ACJ.

QUESTION:

Who knows a manufactor, in 1/87, makes a model of the conventional 3-axle MACK tractor that was used as "RUBBERDUCK" truck in the movie CONVOY ??

The tanktrailer isnĀ“t a problem but the truck, I never find this type !!!!

You mean that R model Mack? Or was it the Suicide cab mack? or was it a U model with the offset cab or was it the super liner mack?

I am going to have to dig that movie out and watch it again. Ive 16 years on the big road and have forgotten all about "Convoy"

A good R model mack would suit me well. Although Diamond Reo's (Rio?) did a good job on my off-road milk hauling days.

The Model R mack truck (tractor) was offered by Walthers in the mid-1990s, except as a solid core resin kit. It was not very well detailed and kinda rough looking (IMO), plus you had to futz around with the windshield/windows to make them look transparent (well, shiny).
Edit: Well, I do see it in the 2004 catalog, (933-4011). It's open core nowadays (all windows open, and basic interior provided), so get your Krystal-Kleer out - not sure how well detailed the body is (hard to tell from the catalog picture). Note that this truck is NOT listed on the Walthers Website
