I am thinking of purchasing a set of the above cars.
I model UP and ATSF, steam and modern era.
Being only new to this hobby my question is would any of the roads being done by BLI, be suitable to run on UP or ATSF lines?
Thanks

dazza, I think only the cars with road names from the west would be fine. Cattle cars, unlike most cars were specialty cars and generaly stayed in the the area of the owners. Back in the days of cattle cars, the processing plants were few and the cars generally stayed in there area of the car owners area of operation. Thats is to say you would occasionally see an "east coast" cattle car in a "west coast" train. Just an opinion, Ken PS- I imagine a long string of those cattle cars with sound would have quite an effect. If you need help with that, I can send you something to give some aroma to go along with the sounds!!!!!! [(-D][(-D][(-D] By the way, I grew up on a dairy farm and as a kid, it was heaven on earth to walk through the barn yard bare footed. [:0][:)]

The BLI K7a stock cars are coming lettered for several railroads, so you could just pick up one from your region and call it done. However, the K7a is a Pennsy car, with a REALLY goofy bracing arrangement that was used on NO other stock car. It only looks like a Pennsy stock car (if any sort of realism is important to you).
Stock cars DID travel outside of their home territory, and did so all the time. I've seen photos of Pennsy stock cars in California, and SP cars in Illinois. You could justify having one Pennsy car in your roster without stretching reality too badly.
